About Hire Reach Hire Reach was founded in 2007 in Cambridge, MA and is staffed by MIT and Harvard-trained scientists and industry veterans. Hire Reach operates the first solution that is designed from the ground up to connect companies, cost-effectively, with passive candidates. Hire Reach has raised money both from angels and strategic industry investors. Our Team Steve Lewis, Founder and CEO Steve founded Hire Reach after recognizing the potential to use innovative technologies to solve inefficiencies in the way companies source and recruit skilled people. Steve has a longstanding interest in entrepreneurship, having founded his first company while a sophomore in college. While a business student at MIT, he was part of a team that won first prize in the Lemelson business plan competition. He has mentored several contestants in the MIT 100K Competition, including a finalist and an overall winner. Steve previously founded eSeated, a venture-backed restaurant reservations and payments company, which won the MITX Best Networked Application before being acquired in 2000. Steve received his BA from Hampshire College, and his MBA and PhD from MIT. more... Larry Denenberg, Chief Scientist Larry's background is both academic and real-world engineering. He earned AB mcl, AM, and PhD degrees from Harvard University, all in Applied Mathematics. He has served on the faculties of Harvard and Tufts Universities and is the author of a standard textbook on algorithms and data structures as well as peer-reviewed publications in the fields of computational mathematical logic and database theory. Larry began his engineering career as a senior engineer and then senior scientist at BBN, where he focused on the construction and analysis of packet-switched networks. He had primary responsibility for creating graph-theoretic algorithms and traffic modeling tools used to design networks that combined to form the original Internet. While at BBN, he was also part of the team that created one of the first generally available speech recognizers. Larry was a co-founder and CTO of InTouch Systems, a company that built commercial speech recognition products for telecom carriers (including Sprint).
